At an early age, I took painting, drawing, basically any lesson you can think of and also doing every craft I could do. When I was in high school, I was very fortunate to have a wonderful mentor. My art teacher encouraged me to follow my style, and be true to my spirit. He made me understand that going to art school would be the correct choice for me. I went to a small college called LaSalle and majored in art. I was exposed to painting, drawing, sculptures, jewelry design, clothing design, and I loved it all. I was fortunate to be able to study my summer semester freshman year in Venice Italy. Needless to say I loved being there, and it made everything in all those art history books come alive.

After two years I transferred to the University of Alabama and was exposed to a far larger art department. I did huge sculptures in the quad, I had some of my art work exhibited, and I did some photography, and some pottery. I just loved it.

I have always been busy creating something. While my two children were young, I designed clothes for them, decorated homes, (one was actually in a house tour), cooked, flower arranging, painting and photography, drawing, and gardening.
